Adrenal Fatigue is a term used by alternative medicine practitioners to mention a disease that causes symptoms such like:

– Fatigue or tiredness.
– Lightheadedness.
– Troubles in getting up in the morning and falling asleep at night.
– Feeling stressed or overwhelmed.
– Craving to consume sweet and salty snacks.
– Usual need for caffeine drinks like coffee and soda.
– Low blood Pressure.

While Adrenal Insufficiency can be diagnosed by low levels in adrenal hormones in blood tests or s

timulation tests, Adrenal Fatigue on the other hand, has no measurable results or scientific proof that it does exist and it is not recognized by the medical society.

Adrenal Insufficiency is a condition that occurs when the adrenal glands fail to produce adequate adrenal hormones or steroid hormones. Diseases such like Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia (CAH) and Addison’s disease are associated to Adrenal Insufficiency.

Adrenal Fatigue healers claim that Adrenal Fatigue is an Adrenal Insufficiency disease but it is not as severe as the CAH or Addison’s disease. They also claim that it occurs because the adrenal glands can’t keep up with the body demand of adrenal hormones during severe or periodically long stress which causes the body to be weakened and require caffeine or sweet stimulants. These claims aren’t based on scientific facts or basis.

Adrenal Fatigue Treatment

Adrenal fatigue treatment is mostly about prescribing a diet that most of its supplements are not regulated by the US government. Medical doctors strongly recommend against that kind of treatments, because consuming those supplements may endanger the patient life or at least may affect his wellbeing in general.

In my personal experience I have suffered for several months from the symptoms listed earlier, except the low blood pressure. I could overcome the situation by exercising, managing my time more effectively, and balance my diet by eating more vegetables.
